Background
The Hong Kong Photobook Dummy Award is part of the Hong Kong Photobook Festival. The Award addresses the photobook's increasing importance as a global medium of expression. By encouraging practitioners to experiment with various visual and tactile storytelling techniques, it offers an ideal opportunity for photographic artists to reflect on their own work and develop new creative experiences for larger audiences.
The book submissions were gathered through an open call and reviewed by an esteemed international jury. In this second edition of the Award, 134 outstanding entries from 38 countries were selected as finalists.
For the next edition of the Dummy Award (2025), open call submissions will be announced in September or October 2024. Submissions are open to countries around the world, including Aotearoa.
