Indonesian photobooks
One of the special features of our bookfair on 10 August, at Te Papa, will be Indonesian photobooks from the Arkademy project.
Members of the Arkademy project, Ben K. C. Laksana and Rara Sekar Larasati, will be showing a wide range of books and talking about Arkademy during our talk & launch sessions. There will also be limited copies for sale at the bookfair.
Among their many books on show will be:
The Banda Journal, by Muhammad Fadli & Fatris MF, which won the 2021 PhotoBook of the Year at the Paris Photo-Aperture Foundation Photobook Awards. The Banda Journal highlights the legacy of centuries-long colonization and exploitation in the remote Indonesian Banda Islands.
Towards New Landscapes by Kurniadi Widodo, a photo documentary publication in disguise of a regular tourism postcard set. Kurniadi Widodo attempts to record this contemporary Indonesian tourism phenomenon in recent years and the many issues it touches.
Landep by Yoppy Pieter that sums up his journey in rediscovering the forgotten relationship with his late father
